Teaching and Mentoring

Teaching Philosophy

Science teaching and learning extends beyond the intellectual and technical skill sets. I believe that true education emerges from dynamic dialogue. A dialogue filled with the enthusiastic exchange of ideas and questions, and also ample pauses for reflection - for both teacher and student.

Experience:

  • 10 guest lectures for graduate neuroscience courses and anatomy labs

Mentoring Philosophy

I’ve stood on the shoulders of these giants and one of my biggest motivations is to be a source of support for others.

Recognizing that people come from diverse backgrounds, enables mentors to make a concerted effort to truly understand and respect their mentees. All students deserve a mentor who participates in consistent self-reflection, who advocates for them, actively supports their growth, and inspires them.
